reporting to us that there was a search warrant at the time as the body was taken from the house and the house was sealed up with tape as a crime scene. now, as robert explained, that makes the house not being allowed to be entered in the meantime because they are trying to preserve the evidence of the crime scene. today, the fbi brought by their emergency -- their -- some special evidence recovery team and they were doing a walk- through, apparently that was the reason to open the house and to go inside the house. it is a huge question in everybody's mind: was this body there ever since the first body was recovered? did the body come after that? if it was there when the other body was recovered, that of mr. ricardo sales, why didn't anyone see it before now? so i'm sure that question is going to be addressed at sometime later. police aren't speaking specifically toish that u this evening. >> don, they mentioned a landfill. they have been looking for six days in the landfill for frederick sales. i don't know if they had a tip about it. but they have been looking for him. it's ju

's get another check of traffic and weather. elizabeth, how's it looking? >> chopper 5 is with us now. and they are showing us how great it looks across the richmond/san rafael bridge. they are heading west to the scene of that earlier brush fire out of san rafael. it was reported southbound 101 at sir francis drake. fire crews were blocking lanes at 4:00. as you can sees across the span of the bridge out of richmond traffic is great. no issues. just behind the sound wall near sir francis drake boulevard. we got off the phone with the chief of the fire department and the fire is out. fire crews are off to the shoulder but no longer blocking any lanes. out to the san mateo bridge, everything looks great. 14 minutes in the commute direction of westbound 92 towards the peninsula. that's your traffic. here's lawrence with your forecast. >> temperatures really cooling down outside around the bay area, elizabeth. good old low clouds and fog starting to make its way back onshore. you see some of those patches sneaking inside the bay now but all along the coastline more of that throughout the

to be trying to find the cause for months before it's actually confirmed. but they say that they will let us know as soon as new information comes in on exactly what caused this pipeline explosion. here in san bruno, the investigation continues this morning. thousands of miles of pipeline will have to be inspected by pg&e as this investigation, of course, continues. the ntsb has been collecting evidence from around the blast site, pieces of the pipeline exploded on thursday leaving this crater in the ground in the middle of a neighborhood. the ruptured line was in a high concentration area so it should -- high consequence area, so it should get more stringent inspections. pg&e says the line was slated to be replaced according to documents. now, pieces of it have become evidence instead, including a 28-foot section ripped out of the ground and tossed 100 feet into the air by the blast. it's being shipped to washington, d.c. as part of the investigation. another big part of the investigation, whether or not there was a gas smell reported to pg&e in the days before the explosion. >> we are not

learning a little more about valdemoro and what they are telling us is that they are finding out he didn't have a permanent address. we live in someone's home here in vallejo, someone else's in hercules. when he was living in that apartment complex where he didn't pay the run and was evicted he lived with cindy tran and over their apartment complex every now and then a woman would come in claiming she was his mom saying, where's my cadillac? have you seen my escalade? it turns out that that woman is one of the victims that was found in a house here in vallejo today. so allen, they are trying to put all these pieces together. they don't believe it's his mom but she would refer to herself as his mom. there is a clique the folks here involved in this that apparently would go gambling together allen, and they had a relationship, it's just not clear what they were at this point. >> joe vazquez in vallejo, thank you. i have more pieces to this puzzle. perhaps the only person who could provide some of the clues as to what happened is in custody. 72-year-old charles rittenhouse owns that vallejo

found two bodies there. they are telling us those bodies were chopped up. they are believed to be the women who had not been seen since wednesday. he had apparently either stayed at the home as a tenant or guest and there is another missing person connected to this case. 35-year-old frederick salis is the son of 73-year-old ricardo salis of hercules. he was found beaten to death in his home saturday allegedly by valdemoro. we have a reporter headed to vallejo and we'll have more on this story at 5:30. >>> in other news the condition of fremont police officer shot in oakland last week has improved after another surgery. yesterday's surgery on 39-year- old todd young was successful. his condition upgraded to serious but stable. the shooting suspect is still in jail in san diego. that is 20-year-old andrew barrientos. he is now charged with attempted murder. he is expected to be arraigned in alameda county next tuesday. >>> we are starting the third month without a state budget. lawmakers ended their session last night after debating two budget plans. governor schwarzenegger sa

cbs5 cameras on the hunt. it first led us to a landfill in richmond and then that ultimately led us right here to the keller canyon landfill here in pittsburgh where we are told scores have investigators spent this day correspondence donning off the landfill. hercules police found more than rita allen's 2002 cadillac escalade in a ravine outside the entrance to by on add corporation. investigates eggedtive source essay they also found a machete near the suv. as they canvassed the area they quickly found by oh-rad had survey surveillance cameras. that recorded a car driving from the area where the escalade was dumped toward trash dumpsters at the rear of bio rad's offices. that was early tuesday morning. keep in mind tuesday was the same day el francisco elson balance dye marrow led police on a high speed chase that led to his death. sources go on to say bio-rad surveillance cameras were not trained on the dumpster area so it's unclear where the car stopped. but where cameras stopped the noses of bio-rad employees picked up. investigative sources go on to say employees reported an in
